My experience is that all supposed “reman” filters are just cleaned good cores. I have 36 years with oem dealers in the trucking field and Dealers and manufactures have mislead the industry from the first reman filter they ever cleaned whether its Cummins,Detroit,Paccar or International and others.The Diesel Particulate Filter was introduced to help diesel cars pass increasingly tough emissions tests. Its job is to trap soot particles produced through the burning of diesel, and prevent them from entering the atmosphere. Like any filter, DPFs become clogged after so many miles, and then require cleaning.
The burn-out is similar to what the new diesel pickups do on “regen.” The DPF filter is again flow-tested. This procedure takes about two days and costs around $400. The Chevrolet/GMC filters have to be cut open to access the filter. The Ford and Ram don’t. Cutting open and re-welding the GM DPF adds around $400 to the cleaning costs

EGR tube removal (credit to Aaron/VA): 1. Locate EGR tube on backside of engine block, near heater hoses and firewall. 2. Remove 2 10mm bolts from EGR tube intake plate. 3. Run your hand down the tube and locate the EGR sensor wire, trace this wire back and unplug it from connection on rear of engine block.
Dec 30, 2015. #1. My Landcruiser 200 2014 diesel indicated Dpf full. i drove 50km at high speed as recommended and even performed a dpf regeneration with the dpf switch. The message is still there so I took the car to my garage where it was checked with a Computer. This indicated that one of the filters was ok and regeneration had worked on itFind your fuel port, then follow your cleaning kit’s directions for attaching the hose and port. 6. Remove the fuel tank cap. This will prevent an excessive build up of pressure. 7. Turn on your car engine. Start your car and wait for the cleaning solution to be used up (typically 5-10 minutes). 8. DPF regen steps below apply to Mercedes Star Diagnostic C3 and C4 scanners. Connect your scanner to the diagnostic port under the dashboard. Start the engine and let it idle in Park. Power up the scanner and select the Mercedes-Benz model. Select Control Units.
